mosquito life cycle
Mosquito life cycle - Can complete from egg to adult in just 7 days!

Ah, yes, the Southern California climate makes it easy to be outside with our friends and family. ☀️

Unfortunately, mosquitoes love it when we're outdoors, too. When mosquitoes bite, they can leave embarrassing, itchy welts and possibly make you sick.

We all have a part to play to keep mosquitoes away.
Mosquito control is a shared responsibility. 🚫🦟

Mosquito control staff will monitor and treat public sources, such as gutters and rivers, but we need residents' help around the home.

Three ways to stop mosquitoes

  1. Tip out stagnant water weekly - This stops mosquitoes' life cycle from completing in stagnant water.
  2. Reduce/clear dense and non-native vegetation -- Vegetation such as ivy, and dense bushes can provide cool, humid resting places for adult mosquitoes. Non-native plants such as bromeliads can hold water in its central cups, which can be used by mosquitoes to lay their eggs.
  3. Protect yourself and your family with repellent.
